Brief Summary of December 14, 2023 Appomattox County School Board Meeting
The following information items were presented:
- Student and Staff Recognitions - The School Board recognized members of the ACHS Varsity Volleyball 2023 State Champion Team for their outstanding accomplishment! Go Raiders!
- Finance and HR Update – Administration continues budget planning for FY25. Food service equipment quotes are due to the School Board Office by 2pm on December 15, 2023. All 2024-2025 Intent to Return forms and contract addendums have been distributed to staff.
- FY 2025 Budget Goals Discussion – School Board Members agreed to focus on employee compensation, facilities improvements, and growth of the CTE program.
- ALL in Tutoring – Dr. Servis presented information on the state of Virginia’s ALL In Tutoring program.
- School Security Grants – ACPS has been awarded two school security grants: Stronger Connections Grant in the amount of $342,596.31 and the School Security Equipment Grant in the amount of $140,322.
- Membership Report - The total funded Average Daily Membership for November 2023 was 2278. Budgeted ADM for 2023 was 2308.
