PURPOSE STATEMENT
Our goal is to prepare every student with the skills needed to become productive and successful citizens on the local, state, national and/or global stage. We believe each child should have access to a high-quality instructional team, up-to-date technology, and innovative lessons that will prepare our students to be career or college ready upon graduation.
“Learning today and leading tomorrow”
ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY
It is the expectation that students involved in a school sport or other school extracurricular activity at AMS will maintain a grade of C or better in all of their classes. A student with an F in any class, or more than one D in any of their classes, at any three-week grade check will be placed on academic probation until the next scheduled grade check. Students will remain on academic probation until their grades meet these standards. Students on academic probation are expected to continue to attend practice but they may not participate in competitions or other activities apart from practice. Any middle school student participating in a VHSL-sanctioned sport or activity at ACHS is also subject to VHSL rules and regulations, including VHSL academic standards. The administration at AMS has the right to remove any student/athlete from a team based on failure to comply with team and school policies.
