HAPPENINGS

AMS Boys Basketball tryouts will begin on Tuesday, November 12th. It will be right after school.

AMS Girls Basketball tryouts will begin on Wednesday, November 13th. It will take place after school. Then the boys will continue their tryouts beginning at 5:30.

AMS Winter Cheer Tryouts have already been completed.

We do have Indoor Track for Middle School. Any student interested in Indoor Track should should stop by Mr. Kenny's room. This will begin November 18th, you can continue to sign up this week. You must have an up to date physical.

EXPECTATIONS FOR STUDENT ATHLETES:

It is the expectation that students involved in a school sport or other school extracurricular activity at AMS will maintain a grade of C or better in all of their classes.  A student with an F in any class, or more than one D in any of their classes, at any three-week grade check will be placed on academic probation until the next scheduled grade check.  Students will remain on academic probation until their grades meet these standards.  Students on academic probation are expected to continue to attend practice but they may not participate in competitions or other activities apart from practice.  Any middle school student participating in a VHSL-sanctioned sport or activity at ACHS is also subject to VHSL rules and regulations, including VHSL academic standards. The administration at AMS has the right to remove any student/athlete from a team based on failure to comply with team and school policies.
